Vampire Academy: Book 2: Frostbite

            Frost bites when a group of strigoi attack a house that Rose and Dimitri had driven to to help train Rose there. Everybody in the vampire world is freaking out, because that had never happened before. for christmas break, everyone in the school goes to a massive winter cabin for break.
           Rose challenges her friend Mason, another dhampir to a skiing contest. Mason likes her though, and won't back down. They challenge, and Mason ends up getting hurt.
           While in the cabin, Rose begins to fall in love with her mentor, Dimitri. he is only 7 years older than her, and a russian dhampir. But a woman from his past that is in love with him keeps asking is he wants to have kids with her. She is Tasha Ozera, Christians aunt, and she was in love with Dimitri. Rose goes to sit outside and contemplate this, where she meets Adrian Ivashkov. Adrian immediatly tries... seducing her. she liked Dimitri too much though, and doesn't fall for Adrian even though his great-aunt Tatianna is the queen. And then everyone hears there was another attack. Mai Rinaldi finds out her mother was killed in the attack.
            The next day, Rose finds out that Mai, Mason, and Eddie have gone missing. she finds Christian, and even though she doesn't like Lissas boyfriend very much, she teams up with him to help track down their missing friends in Seattle.
             Rose and Christian find Mason, Eddie and Mia, they were trying to track down the strigoi and kill them. but then the srtigoi find them. They are all tied to chairs in a basement, Eddie being fed on periodically by a strigoi. Christian helped Rose escape then they fight the strigoi and all escape out the door, besides Rose.
             Mason, with the crush on Rose and the heart of a hero, rushes back in to save her from the 2 strigoi that caught her. immediatly he is killed. Rose ends up killing them and then crying for Mason and pretty much waking up in her moms arms. Rose and her mom had never been close, especially since Rose's mom given her to the school. Rose didn't even know her dad.
             The book ends there, with a reunion in tears for Mason...
